Nationally Recognized Training
Come join us for our Barista Basics Program at ICE. You will receive basic level barista training from Merlo trained staff along with certified training from ICE in preparing and serving espresso coffee and basic food hygiene. This course will be offered as a combination of theory training and ‘hands-on’ practical training at the ICE Barista Training School for 3 consecutive Friday mornings or Saturday afternoons (your choice). It will also be combined with on-line theory study and assessments for both registered subjects. There will be a Barista Basics Certificate and a Statement of Attainment awarded to each successful barista student upon successful completion of this course.
Suitable for anyone who wants to train as a barista and to work in a cafe or coffee shop. It is a certified course and it will give you the basic qualifications that you’ll need to work as a barista in the coffee industry. Durations: 3 consecutive weeks (4 hour classes)
Dates: Fridays 9.00am to 1.00pm or Saturdays 9.00am to 1.00pm (It must be the same day each week)

SITHFAB005 Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee – basic skills and knowledge to prepare, produce and serve a range of espresso coffees
SITXFSA001 Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety – basic food hygiene skills and knowledge required by law to work in the food and coffee industry
Class inclusions: Drink as much coffee as you make, plus take home a 1kg bag of award winning Merlo coffee beans and a surprise gift from ICE too! Food and drinks will also be available for sale from our ICE Café on class days.
